Ὑπατία (Hypatia)




Hypatia of Alexandria, thought to be the first woman philosopher, known for her highly tragic death (mentioned in Suda) in 415 BC, where she was kidnapped on the road, dragged to a church naked and left to die alone right after her skin was peeled off by seashells.
